Beer and Poutine Galore!

Canucks from the Triangle met yesterday at Bottledog Bites and Brews in Cary for CanSouth’s Poutine and Beer Tasting.

We sampled four fancy poutines paired with four local beers. Pretty much everybody agreed that the poutine was delicious, especially the one topped with Montreal smoked meat.  The Coolcumber fruit beer from Wicked Weed Brewing in Asheville, which was paired with the Mexican poutine, was by far the favourite.

Thanks to everyone for hanging out with us and a huge thank you to CanSouth’s Social Media volunteer for organizing this fun and tasty event!

Join Team Canada at the International Festival!

Canada is participating in the Raleigh International Festival again this year!

CanSouth, in collaboration with the Canadian Business Association-NC, is working hard to curate yet another fantastic Canada Cultural Booth. We cannot do it without engaging Canadians volunteers like you!

The Festival will be held at the Convention Center in Raleigh from Friday, October 20 to Sunday, October 22.

All volunteers will be able to enjoy everything the Festival has to offer before or after their shift at the Booth.

Use the link above to register for a shift using our Eventbrite page. Sign up with a friend or your spouse by selecting a shift with two available time slots. We are looking forward to hosting the Canada Cultural Booth with you!

International Festival 2017

DSCN8113The theme for this year’s international festival has been announced and it is HEROES FROM AROUND THE WORLD.

Canada has a wealth of cultural, historic, present-day and fictional heroes, but we want to hear from you about who we should feature at the Canada booth!

In March, we featured a few of Canada’s great and influential women, like Roberta Bondar (the first female Canadian astronaut) and author Lucy Maud Montgomery.  Read more here: http://www.canadashistory.ca/Explore/Women/Canada-s-Great-Women

Then, we filled you in on some Canadian superheroes like well-known X-Man Wolverine, anti-hero Deadpool and the slightly less famous but still formidable Captain Canuck: http://mentalfloss.com/article/81951/7-most-canadian-superheroes-ever

Now, let us know who your favorite Canadian hero is! Share your thoughts with us on Facebook or via email.

Canada Day 2017

July is quickly approaching and that means we’re getting excited about celebrating Canada’s 150th anniversary! Canada Day 2017 will be one for the history books and we want to know how you plan to celebrate.  Are you heading up North, or are you hoping to find some fellow Canadians to celebrate with right here in the Triangle?  If you’re going to be in town, let us know on our Facebook event so we can start planning (and make sure there’s enough Labatt’s on hand 😉).  If you’re heading out of town, be sure to share some photos with us!
