CanSouth is a group of Canadian expats who live primarily within the Greater Triangle Area and represent a community of over 400 households, and growing. We gather to celebrate annual traditions like Canada Day, Canadian Thanksgiving, and the holiday season. We are also known to rendezvous just for the fun of it whether simply networking or cheering for our favorite sports teams chasing the Stanley Cup, Grey Cup and Olympic medals. Enlightening locals about our Canadian culture is something we relish when hosting a Canada booth in the annual International Festival of Raleigh. Click on our Events page to learn more.
CanSouth benefits Canadian expats wishing to connect and reconnect with fellow Canucks in the area, virtually and in person. Whether you’ve been in the area for years and have just discovered CanSouth today or you’re new to the area and would value a quick orientation, know that we’ve rolled out the red carpet for you. We’re a great group of folks, all volunteers, who look forward to meeting you.
We were founded in May 2004 by Canadian expat, Sean Mitton. The first event was held at the Carolina Ale House in Cary, NC to watch a playoff game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators.
