Canadian actresses and actors… in time for the Oscars!

As the Oscars Ceremony is today, CanSouth is presenting some of the Canadian talent featured at the Canada Booth during the International Festival back in October 2015.  (The red maple leaf indicates that these actors and actresses started in the business during the last 30 years.)

Can you match the names with the faces?  Or name a famous movie or television show in which these Canadians have starred?

Game night photos: Flag Day and the Jets (Feb 16)

Flag Day and the Jets was great fun! The Jets may have lost to the Canes on Tuesday, but lucky participants won the opportunity to watch the game at ice level for one period. Their eyes shining with excitement and smiling faces showed how much of a thrill that was for all of them!

National Flag of Canada Day

February 15, 1965 was a historical moment for Canada as the now-beloved red maple leaf flag was flown on Parliament Hill for the first time. Watch historical footage of this important moment in our history.

A highly recognised symbol around the world today, the creation of a unique flag to represent the country was rather controversial at the time. Watch to The National’s  The Real Story Behind the Canadian Flag (presented on February 15, 2015, on the 50th anniversary of the flag).
